Meet Mary Jack
For over 40 years, Mary Jack has been a fierce advocate for the women of Vanuatu—on the national stage, across the Pacific, at the United Nations, and in high-profile meetings with global leaders like Hillary Clinton.
Having witnessed millions of aid dollars fail to create the lasting impact the women need, Mary took action. In 2021, six years after the devastation of Cyclone Pam, she said, “Enough!” and reached out to Wendy at the Agency of Women for support to build a national body to represent, advocate and build capacity for the self-determination of Vanuatu’s grass-roots women and girls.
Mitingar Women and Girls Association was born.
